Expanding into my highest potential has been a life-long pursuit of mine, which means stretching beyond my comfort zone most of the times. However there’s one area of personal growth that I’ve avoided like the plague: public speaking.Perhaps its because I used to stutter as child or perhaps because English isn’t my first language.Whatever the old excuses, they are so out the window!
One month ago my trailblazer-mentor Andrea J. Lee gave me an extraordinary break-through opportunity! I got to have 2 minutes of TV fame at a Canadian Television Station in Downtown Vancouver, followed by a Paparazzi photo opportunity. Can
you imagine? All exclusively arranged for an intimate, hand-selected crowd of 100 entrepreneurs or so attending the annual Wealthy Thought Leader Event that was broadcast worldwide via Simulcast. I was determined to make this “Throw Down Opportunity” my debut! Big time! I wore my golden dress and delivered a PURE GOLDEN message to the T and to the second. It was so empowering! And best of all, I didn’t suck.
Then two weeks ago I had yet two more opportunities on the main stage at the sold-out Speak-To-Sell event hosted by my beloved mentor Lisa Sasevich in Las Vegas. I was one of the fortunate 27 co-authors who got honored and celebrated on stage in front of hundreds of attendees. As if that wasn’t enough I was also given the privilege to serve as a Simulcast MC which was a lot of fun! I felt for the first time in my life what it means to “be known” by a larger crowd. When I introduced myself at Speak-To-Sell, so many people said “Sabine Messner, oh I know this name! I read your chapter! Yours was my favorite chapter! Can you please sign my book?“
So now that I’m broken in, and starting to like this public speaking thing, I’m ready to hop on more stages, virtual or not! Got a stage?
